Date published : 22 Aug 2010 - 16:31:51

The American Le Mans Series will go back up to 10 events next season, although the identity of two of the venues on its newly-announced 2011 is yet to be confirmed. All the 2010 venues have definitely been retained bar Miller Motorsports Park, which does not appear on the current provisional calendar. There are two 'tba' dates - on 3 July and 3 September. The only other changes among the regular dates are Laguna Seca switching back to a late-season date after taking place in May this year - although the Petit Le Mans remains the season finale - and Mosport Park moving from August to July."The combination of the record number of world-class cars present on our grids and an outstanding level of competition throughout 2010 gives us reason to be very optimistic for 2011," said series president and CEO Scott Atherton."Each year we strive to put together a calendar that features the best road-racing facilities and major market street circuits with events organised by the best promoters in North America. I can say without any hesitation that we have accomplished that goal once again for 2011. And the fact that we are able to release our schedule earlier than ever before is a positive for everyone."2011 American Le Mans Series schedule:March 19, Sebring International Raceway (Sebring 12 Hours)April 16, Long Beach street circuitJuly 3, TBDJuly 9, Lime Rock ParkJuly 31, Mosport International RacewayAugust 6, Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course - LexingtonAugust 21, Road America - Elkhart LakeSeptember 3, TBASeptember 17, Mazda Raceway Laguna SecaOctober 15, Road Atlanta (Petit Le Mans)
