Date published : 16 Mar 2010 - 07:10:29

Intersport driver Jon Field escaped unscathed from a horrendous accident in pre-race testing at Sebring on Monday. The American's Lola rolled several times in the violent crash between Turns 9 and 10.The car was destroyed in the accident, but the central safety cell remained intact and landed upright.Field was able to extricate himself from the wreckage and after initial checks at the circuit's medical centre, he was taken to Highlands Regional Medical Centre for further observation. He was released with a clean bill of health last night, and could yet race in Saturday's Sebring 12 Hours using Intersport's spare car.No official results were released from the test, but unofficial timings put the two factory Peugeots on top ahead of Aston Martin Racing.
