Collard penalised in race two

Date published : 05 Jun 2011 - 16:38:48

BMW driver Rob Collard has lost his second place from this afternoon's second British Touring Car round at Oulton Park.WSR's Collard was one of the few drivers to start on wets all-round and came on strong as the rain arrived late in the race.He caught the Triple 8 Vauxhall Vectra of James Nash and beat it on the run to the line on the final lap to secure second. However, he has now been handed a one-second penalty for gaining an unfair advantage. The judgement drops Collard to third, handing Nash the runner-up spot. The BMW will still have to carry 36kg of ballast in race three because Collard finished second on the road.
