Neate loses points from final race

Date published : 07 Jun 2010 - 12:04:42

Andy Neate has been stripped of his ninth place from the final British Touring Car Championship race at Oulton Park for causing an avoidable accident.Race officials decided that he had been at fault for an incident on lap 11 at the Island hairpin that resulted in Andrew Jordan's Eurotech Vauxhall being spun into the tyre wall. The WSR BMW driver's exclusion has cost him his ninth place and promoted Paul O'Neill and Gordon Shedden into the final two point-paying positions.Neate was also hit with a four-point endorsement on his competition licence and a six-place grid penalty for the next race at Croft.WSR appealed the decision, but lost it.
