Date published : 22 Aug 2009 - 00:00:00

Valencia, 22nd August 2009 Qualifying with two faces for the Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro on a hot and humid afternoon in the Spanish city, where the teams went on the track to determine the starting grid for the 2nd European GP held here tomorrow at the Valencia city circuit. Kimi Raikkonen will start from the third row (1:40.144), after the 6th fastest time in the qualifying, next to Jenson Button. Very difficult Q1 for Badoer, who, due to a break during the third free practice session in the morning, couldn t gain more confidence with the car or the rack. The Italian driver had a lap time of 1:41.413 and will therefore start from the grid s last row. First row went to McLaren, with Lewis Hamilton on pole position (1:39.498), just ahead of his teammate Kovalainen. Third position went to Barrichello, who has been sporting a message for Felipe Massa on his helmet - see you on track soon - since the beginning of the weekend.
