Ferrari delay Felipe Massa return until 2010

Date published : 11 Oct 2009 - 19:28:14

Massa, who was badly injured in a freak accident during qualifying for this year's Hungarian Grand Prix, returns to the wheel of a Formula One car for the first time since July when he tests a F2007 at Fiorano this morning.
However, results from a medical in Paris last Friday, while "positive", preclude a return in 2009. "This is in no way a proper test session and looking at the stopwatch will not be on the agenda," said a Ferrari statement. "Talk of a proper return can wait until the start of the 2010 season." Toyota's Timo Glock, meanwhile, has been ruled out of Sunday's Brazilian Grand Prix after it emerged that he cracked a vertebra during qualifying for the race in Japan 10 days ago.
The Northamptonshire circuit insists it is only interested in a long-term deal to stage the race.

I agree with John B. Masa needs to get 100% fit and start next season with all guns blazing. We need him back for superb racing as he did with Hamilton last season.Massa is a joy to watch.

Massa should not race this season but should come back in 2010 season fully rested and healed. He is an excellent driver and should forget 2009, its unfortunate what happen but life can be cruel, so comeback in 2010 and show us all the great style of racing we have missed most of this season.
