Force India is soaring upwards - Liuzzi

Tonio Liuzzi thinks Force India has now proved that it is no longer a backmarker and can threaten the top teams at every race.Having scored in all three grands prix so far in 2010, including a fifth place for Adrian Sutil in Bahrain, Force India is now established in sixth place in the constructors' championship - between former champion squads Renault and Williams. With Liuzzi also showing much better form this season than during his muted late-2009 comeback, the Italian said the mood in the team was buoyant."When you start having results and start scoring points, you feel much stronger," he said."You feel you're back, that all your efforts have paid off, and it's also good not just for your confidence, but the team's confidence goes up."That's a really important thing for a team like ours. "We're scoring points consistently and we're showing that we're not a small team any more."These things keep you alive and keep you believing, and help you to go forward."He praised the team's efforts to transfer its spectacular low-drag 2009 form to all configurations and tracks this year."I thought from last year that Force India would surprise people, because it's got really good engineers, a really strong group of people working there, good technical people, great mechanics - it's like a great pyramid, everything is working really well," Liuzzi said."I think it's maybe the best team I've ever worked with in my short career."They work really well and they're really motivated."The performance we're having this year is not because of luck, it's because we've worked in this direction - the technical department and Mark Smith were working especially on using the low drag we had last year and trying to improve the downforce to make a more consistent car, that was not just fast on low downforce circuits, but overall."And I think that's the result we have."We knew we could be much, much faster, we didn't know where the other teams were."But at the moment we're achieving our targets and are exactly where we want to be."
