Formula 1 2013 Race Predictions

Date published : 05 Feb 2013 - 14:53:30

I don't think I've ever been on the fence so much at the start of a new Formula 1 race calendar as I am for the 2013 season, there are so many variables to consider when trying to predict what team or driver will take an early advantage.

With so many of the top teams playing catch up after spending more time developing their 2012 cars during the season, I can't see anyone having a race advantage.

Red Bull, Ferrari and Mclaren in someway shelved 2013 car development to compete within the driver and team championships - with so many rule changes ahead in 2014 this made perfect sense as no real reason to spend lots of r&d at the factory.  What happened to Mclaren using their own engine for 2013 ?

I think the driver with the best chance of getting an early race win would be Hamilton, as any good boxer knows you need to be hungry to win - has he got the eye of the tiger ?  Vettel has voiced his greatest threat comes from his own team mate Webber, Alonso seems to be more worried about Vettel joining Ferrari.

Winter testing will give us an idea what will be in store for us, but the real test will be Australia.
