A home driver on pole is always going to be popular at any grand prix, and that was by and large the case as Lewis Hamilton secured another P1 at Silverstone.

As for Mercedes, I'd pay to watch Rosberg beat Hamilton at the British GP. The resulting Brit melodrama could be so fun.

One driver who remains popular with British fans though is Jenson Button. There was a lot of sympathy flying around after he and team-mate Fernando Alonso failed to make it past Q1 in their misfiring McLarens.
