Lewis not expecting to fight for win
Lewis Hamilton does not expect McLaren to have a shot at victory in tomorrow's Bahrain Grand Prix, and admitted that the team is at a downforce deficit to its main rivals.Although McLaren had been in the thick of the fight at the front in testing and looked promising in practice, in qualifying it struggled to make an impression.Hamilton while start fourth, while his world champion team-mate Jenson Button was only eighth - but Lewis said the result was actually a relief as he had feared it might be worse still."We didn't have the pace of the Red Bulls or the Ferraris, so I definitely wasn't expecting to be where we are," he said."We're not quick enough at the moment. "I was nervous that we wouldn't even get to Q3, because our general pace isn't that great."Then I didn't know where we'd be, but I thought we might be at the back of Q3."Hamilton said his focus is to salvage as much as he can from the Sakhir race."I think is a win is really out of the question - but we will push anyway and if we win, we win, but I think it's really about getting the points," he said. But despite not having a car to fight for victory in the first round, Hamilton remained optimistic about his season."We lose about a second in the middle sector, we've got a lot of downforce to find," he said."But this is a much, much better position than we started from last year."Make sure you don't miss out on taking part in our new live chat feature on itv.com/f1 during Sunday's grand prix
