Lotus announces mid-February unveiling

Lotus will unveil the first car for its Formula 1 return on February 12, the team has confirmed.Team principal Tony Fernandes announced on his Twitter page that the Mike Gascoyne-designed challenger would be fired up for the first time on February 5, with a public launch to follow seven days later.Lotus later officially confirmed the February 12 presentation date, with the unveiling to take place at an as yet unspecified venue.The team, which is being backed by the Malaysian government and a group of Malaysian businessmen, has already confirmed its first track test of the 2010 car will take place at the second Jerez pre-season test from February 17.F1 race winners Jarno Trulli and Heikki Kovalainen form the team's driver line-up. 2010 confirmed car launches 28 January Ferrari (Maranello)29 January McLaren (UK)31 January Renault (Valencia circuit) Sauber (Valencia circuit)12 February Lotus (venue TBA)
