Several spectators have been injured in a crash involving Hyundai driver Hayden Paddon during stage nine of the Rally Argentina on Saturday.

Neither Paddon nor his co-driver John Kennard were hurt in the accident, but the stage was cancelled to allow the casualties to be taken to hospital.

Stage 10, the final stage of the day, began as originally scheduled at 4.37pm local time (8.37pm BST) with Northern Ireland's Kris Meeke in the overall lead ahead of Citroen team-mate Mads Ostberg.

A statement from rally officials said: "SS9 was interrupted due to an accident involving Hyundai #20 of Hayden Paddon and John Kennard.

"The incident involved spectators who were immediately assisted by the emergency services belonging to the race."
