Red Bull pair expect tight pole battle

Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber think their Red Bull team faces a very hard fight to continue its run of pole positions in China tomorrow. Red Bull has started first for every race held so far this year, but with McLaren topping both practice sessions today, Vettel expects a tight contest for pole. The Red Bulls were fifth and sixth this afternoon, with Mercedes also quick, while Ferrari appeared to be on heavy fuel as it languished in the upper midfield. "Obviously the circuit was not very clean to start with and we were sliding around a lot, but at the end of the day I think we had a good day with no big issues in the car and no problems," said Vettel. "McLaren looks strong, but I think the Ferraris were just heavy today and will be up there tomorrow." Webber added: "I think it's going to be very tight in qualifying again. "A clean Q3 lap is crucial for all of us." Vettel does not think that Red Bull's recent form - including a one-two in Malaysia - means it can take anything for granted. "I'm only 22, but I've learned already that there are no guarantees in life," he said. "Yes we do have one of the best cars, but we still have to work. "Today it looked very close." And Webber expects rain to complicates matters on race day as well. "There's a bit of moisture floating around on Sunday afternoon, so it looks like the fans will be pleased with an action-packed race yet again, and there will be plenty of grey hairs for us," he said.
