Rosberg shrugs off Barrichello's remarks

Nico Rosberg insists that he is strong enough to deal with being Michael Schumacher's team-mate at Mercedes despite Rubens Barrichello advising him to "get out of there".The Brazilian partnered Michael Schumacher at Ferrari from 2000-2006 and when asked his advice for Rosberg said: "Knowing what I know and seeing how fast Michael went today, it's going to be a tough job." But Rosberg brushed off concerns at having the seven-time world champion as his team-mate."I am also quite strong and I respect people," said Rosberg when asked by AUTOSPORT whether the plight of Schumacher's previous team-mates concerned him. "I'm not too worried and, in general, I'm go to go for it and we will see what comes of it. If I'm ahead, great; if I'm behind, I need to work harder."I am confident from last year that I can do well. I don't have a problem. It's going to be challenge, of course, because I'm up against one of the greatest of all time."Rosberg added Barrichello's comments did not completely surprise him because the Brazilian spent so long being beaten by Schumacher at Ferrari."From his point of view, he was beaten for six years so maybe from him it doesn't surprise me that he says that."Rosberg completed 119 laps behind the wheel of the Mercedes W01 at Valencia time. Schumacher is due to take over testing duties tomorrow.
