Sauber keen to drop BMW from title

Sauber has confirmed that it has indicated to Bernie Ecclestone that it wants to drop the BMW name from its official team title. The Hinwil-based squad officially remains known as BMW Sauber despite founder Peter Sauber having now taken back full control of the team following BMW's decision to withdraw from Formula 1 at the end of last season.And while it was believed the team opted not to change the name ahead of the new season so not to jeopardise the TV money payments it will receive for its 2009 results, Peter Sauber admits it now wants the title changed and says that Ecclestone is aware of its wishes.  We want to change the name, Peter Sauber said.
