Nico Rosberg ended the season in spectacular style by sealing his third consecutive victory at the season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Here, Press Association Sport looks back at the 2015 Formula One season in numbers.

3 - With his victory in Austin, Lewis Hamilton clinched his third world title. He is only the 10th driver to be crowned champion on more than two occasions. The British driver joined Michael Schumacher (seven), Juan Manuel Fangio (five), Sebastian Vettel (four), Alain Prost (four), Ayrton Senna (three), Niki Lauda (three), Nelson Piquet (three), Jack Brabham (three) and Sir Jackie Stewart (three).

43 - Only two drivers in Formula One history have now won more races than Hamilton. Michael Schumacher (91) and Alain Prost (51).

10 - Hamilton became the first driver to win 10 or more races in successive seasons.

49 - The British driver is just one shy of a half-century of pole positions after securing 11 this season. Only Ayrton Senna (65) and Michael Schumacher (68) have more. He is now on a seven-race streak without starting from pole, however.

44 - Hamilton broke from Formula One tradition by retaining the number 44 on his Mercedes rather than adopting number one after winning the title last season. Forty-four was the number Hamilton used when he first started racing.

246,000,000 - The number of US dollars which American business magazine Forbes claims Hamilton has earned in the last 10 years.

17 - With his second place in Abu Dhabi, Hamilton has equalled the number of record podium finishes in a season. Michael Schumacher (2002) and Sebastian Vettel (2011) also finished on the rostrum 17 times.

12 - With Rosberg winning ahead of Hamilton in Abu Dhabi, Mercedes secured their 12th one-two finish of the campaign. A new Formula One record for the Silver Arrows.

15 - The number of front-row lockouts Mercedes have sealed this season. Yet another new record.

8 - Fernando Alonso failed to finish eight of the 19 races in 2015. In terms of DNFs, it is his worst campaign since his opening year with Minardi in 2001.

5 - The number of points Jenson Button finished ahead of Alonso in the drivers' standings. It is the first time Alonso, the two-time world champion , has ever been out-scored by a team-mate over the course of a year.

1,127 Vettel, who failed to finish just twice in Belgium and Mexico, completed more laps than any other driver this season.

17 - Max Verstappen became the sport's youngest-ever driver to start a Formula One race when he made his debut in Australia.
