Formula One team Toro Rosso unveiled their new car for the 2014 season in Jerez, Spain, on Monday, ahead of Tuesday's opening pre-season test session.

The STR9, designed by the team of engineer James Key, will be powered by a Renault engine, just like it's big-brother team Red Bull.

"This new engine will help the synergy between the two teams," said Toro Rosso Team Principal Franz Toat.

"We've already worked extensively with Renault and I enjoyed it a lot," said French driver Jean-Eric Vergne.

Toro Rosso, who lost Australian driver Daniel Ricciardo to Red Bull for this coming campaign, finished eighth in last season's constructors championship with 33 points.

The team's other driver for the season, which begins in Melbourne on March 16, is 19-year-old rookie Russian Daniil Kvyat.
