GPUpdateBratt secures pole for Race 226 June 2011Will Bratt backed up his maiden Formula 2 victory by claiming pole position for the second race of the weekend at Spa-Francorchamps, another first for the British driver. His personal best time of 2:07.495 remained unbeaten at the end of the session, with Ramón Piñeiro and Mirko Bortolotti his nearest rivals in second and third respectively.
"That was a good session but I could have gone even faster," Bratt commented. "We didn't learn a lot about the track from yesterday's wet sessions so our set-up was based on Friday's running. I hooked up a really good lap with my second set of tyres on but even then we still had more pace available."
Germany's Tobias Hegewald was next up in fourth, just over three tenths behind Bortolotti. Championship leader Christopher Zanella set the sixth fastest time, edging out series newcomer Jordan King. Mikkel Mac and Miki Monrás locked out the fourth row, while Julian Theobald and Jack Clarke completed the top ten runners.
Race 2 begins at 2.20pm local time (BST 1)
