GPUpdateGrid penalty drops Bortolotti to eighth23 July 2011 Formula 2 championship leader Mirko Bortolotti has been handed a five-place grid drop for this afternoon's first race of the weekend at Brands Hatch.
The Italian had qualified third, but during this morning's qualifying session came into contact with Alex Brundle, who incidentally now rises to a second row grid spot.
Crucially, Bortolotti's penalty means he now starts only one position ahead of championship rival Christopher Zanella of Switzerland.
