Formula Two news Pineiro fastest at Valencia 03 December 2009On Thursday the Formula Two series started its two-day test in Valencia. It was the first official test for Formula Two after the season came to an end in September at the same circuit. Ramon Pineiro completed the fastest lap of the day with a 1.27.572 while in the afternoon Johan Jokinen was fastest with a 1.28.175
The day of testing in Valencia was split in a morning and an afternoon session. In the morning Johan Jokinen had been fastest for much of the incident-free session, but was bumped down to second as Jolyon Palmer put in an impressive stint to put himself top. Pineiro then displaced Palmer, recording several fast laps in succession with ten minutes of the session remaining. In the afternoon Denmark's Johan Jokinen finished fastest, after setting an early benchmark that proved too quick for anyone else to match. Andy Soucek and Steven Kane were both active during the session as they continue to help develop the car in readiness for next year's championship. Soucek set an early time just 0.098 seconds faster than Ramon Pineiro, whilst Kane's benchmark was enough to see him slot into eighth place. Both have been omitted from the results, however, as their cars incorporate some upgrades planned for 2010.
