Formula One news Soucek repaints helmet for Williams test 30 November 2009The excitement is building for Andy Soucek as he prepares to enjoy a full day of testing with Williams at Jerez on Tuesday. Having won this year's Formula 2 championship, in which all cars are designed by the F1 team, the Spaniard was awarded the run as a reward.
After clinching the F2 title with time to spare, Soucek will be in the Williams-Toyota cockpit for a full day on Tuesday before handing over to 2010 full-time driver Nico Hülkenberg for the remaining two days of testing.
Soucek won this year's F2 title by a 51-point margin"For me it's like a dream come true, having an F1 team focus on you for an entire day," the 24-year-old Madrid driver said. "Williams really do set the highest standards and every detail is examined and catered for - I even had three people analysing how my seat position could improve!"Having attended the team's Grove base in order for his seat fitting, Andy added that the test will also be a 'big responsibility', particularly with the limited amounts running on offer due to the new-for-2009 testing regulations."Overall, I'm feeling very relaxed and confident," he added. "I have even had my helmet repainted with the Williams blue and white colour scheme and it looks really good. The team made me feel very comfortable and I can't wait to get out in the car!"
