GPUpdateZanella completes Magny-Cours double15 May 2011 Christopher Zanella earned his second victory of the weekend at Magny-Cours on Sunday, holding off fellow front row starter Alex Brundle to cross the line first and take the championship lead. Behind the top two, Mirko Bortolotti secured his first podium finish of the weekend after a challenging opening race. A strong start at a much brighter Magny-Cours circuit was ultimately enough for Zanella to take the chequered flag first, but Brundle failed to give up on stealing the top spot on the podium though and held onto the back of his rival's car early on. Bortolotti strong start also earned him a podium spot, with the Italian rider jumping ahead of Mihai Marienscu when the lights went out. Mike Monrás was not limited to a low points scoring finish after making a poor getaway, as the Spaniard fought back through to get ahead of compatriot Ramón Piñeiro early on and deliver some strong lap times. While he was doing this the top three began to pull away, leaving Marinescu as his only realistic target. As the race entered its final stages, Monrás put increasing pressure on fourth place man Marinescu, eventually making a move stick on the final lap of the race. Behind the Romanian, Jon Lancaster secured the best result of his debut Formula 2 weekend, with the 22-year-old finishing just ahead of fellow Briton Will Bratt. Tobias Hegewald, Piñeiro and Jack Clarke rounded out the top ten.  Round 3 of the championship will be staged at Spa-Francorchamps in just over a month's time
