ASM retains Pla through 2011

Le Mans Series LMP2 champion team ASM has extended its deal with lead driver Olivier Pla through to the end of 2011.The 28-year-old Frenchman, who had been a race-winner in the inaugural GP2 season, made a full-time switch to sportscars with ASM at the start of the 2008 season. He won this year's LMS LMP2 title with Miguel Amaral in a Ginetta-Zytek."I am very happy to have Olivier with us again and I'm confident that with him we can repeat the results of 2009," said team boss Antonio Simoes.The deal will see Pla test for ASM's other programmes in GT racing alongside his prototype racing commitments in the LMS and the Le Mans 24 Hours.
