The Quifel ASM team has withdrawn from the next round of the Le Mans Series and Intercontinental Le Mans Cup at Imola in a fortnight.A statement from the squad, which runs an LMP1 Zytek for Olivier Pla and Miguel Amaral, said poor engine reliability so far this season had prompted its decision."Quifel ASM team regrets to announce that it will not be present in the ILMC/LMS event in Imola beginning of July," said Antonio Simoes' team."Lack of engine reliability has caused the team to retire in the six hours of Spa, and after less than four hours in the 24 hours of Le Mans."The team has no certainty that engine reliability and competitiveness can be restored in the short term, therefore it has taken the decision to address those issues in a comprehensive way before returning to racing."The team hopes to be able to return to racing in the 2011 LMS after the summer."The statement added that there were no question marks over ASM's longer-term future in the sport."Quifel ASM team intends to pursue its racing activity in 2012 and beyond, and is at present evaluating its available options," it said.
