Dovizioso angry after crashing out

Date published : 15 Aug 2010 - 14:14:31

Andrea Dovizioso was furious with himself from crashing out of a potential podium finish in the Czech MotoGP at Brno. The 24-year-old Italian, who is under pressure to keep his ride within the factory HRC squad for 2011, crashed out of fourth position while running in the leading pack with Honda's top brass watching on from the pits.Dovizioso then faced a nervous few seconds as he came to rest prone in the middle of the track with the rest of the field swerving to avoid him. He climbed back on the bike, but retired a lap later from accident damage."We saw yesterday many people have a problem with the front," he explained to the BBC. "Today with a lot of wind the problem for everybody is much bigger. Also it made the lap times much slower."I pushed 100% at the beginning because I didn't want to lose time to [Jorge] Lorenzo and [Dani] Pedrosa. Unfortunately I made a small mistake."I am so angry because the pace of the race is not so fast and I think we had a possibility to fight for third position. I think also maybe even for second. We can't be happy about that but for sure we had the speed so we made a big improvement."
