Jorge Lorenzo and Valentino Rossi will renew their MotoGP championship battle at this weekend's British Grand Prix.

After Lorenzo claimed his fifth victory of the campaign in the Czech Republic, the Yamaha team-mates head to Silverstone finely poised on 211 points apiece.

Marc Marquez, the reigning MotoGP champion, has already been cast 52 points adrift in the race for the title.

After wins at Silverstone in 2010, 2012 and 2013, the Spaniard Lorenzo, popular with the British fans, will start the weekend as the favourite.

He said: "I won several races at Silverstone in the past and I feel good there so hopefully this season we can achieve another great result on British soil."

For Rossi, the nine-time world champion, he will make history as the first motorcycle rider to become an Honorary Member of the British Racing Drivers' Club.

And while the Italian great has five victories at Donington Park, he is yet to triumph at Silverstone - the home of MotoGP in Britain since 2010.

"Now that Jorge and I are level on points it will be very important to consistently be fast," he said.

"I am also very honoured to have been invited to become an Honorary Member of the British Racing Drivers' Club. I know it's very difficult to become a member of this exclusive club, there are very selective criteria. There is no rider in the BRDC, I will be the first and for this I am even more honoured."
