"I think Jorge and Valentino will be strong," Marquez began, having been followed by Rossi in Friday practice. "Especially Valentino will be very, very strong. I don't know why, but I just sense that [laughs]! Jorge (Lorenzo, second on the grid) also; he will try to recover some points in the championship and we will try to be there."
Marquez's teammate endured a less successful day en route to fourth place: "Unfortunately, I had some problems with the tyres in FP4 and in qualifying. I had completely no grip. I lost an amount of time and nobody knew what was happening, so only on the last tyre I had some grip and was able to jump up because (before that) I was tenth, or I don't know what. Finally I got fourth place. The second row wasn't my goal today, but things were not looking good."
Last year at Misano, Marquez triumphed from pole position in the Moto2™ race. Pedrosa had clinched the MotoGP™ pole, but - having suffered a problem which left him at the back of the grid - was taken out of the Grand Prix on the opening lap.
