Manuel Sete Gibernau Bultó born 15th December 1972 in Barcelona, Spain. Gibernau was known for his wet-weather abilities and was occasionally referred to as "rainmaster". However despite his flair, he was all too often let down by an apparently temperamental nature. In-race setbacks could disproportionately affect his competitiveness, both negatively and positively. After retiring from racing in 2006 Gibernau rejoined the grid for 2009 but only managed half a season of racing. He is arguably one of the best riders in MotoGP never to have won the title.
