Work to do for Aoyama and Interwetten

Hiroshi Aoyama's first experience aboard the new version of the RC212V prototype at the Sepang test allowed the Japanese rider to start work on finding his set-up, and the Interwetten team have taken valuable information which they will now use to continue the process.
Encountering hot temperatures and a difficult climate Aoyama recorded a best lap time across both days of 2'03.195 (achieved on Friday), but the focus was on finding a base from which to work forward.
My feeling with the bike was better today (Friday) than yesterday, but it's not good enough yet. We have a lot of work to do with this bike, explained Aoyama, who tested last year's version of the RC212V at Sepang in December. The character of the bike has changed 180° from 2009 to 2010. The important thing for this test was that we found a starting point and that we were able to solve some problems such as the one with the rear suspension.
The 250cc World Champion added: We don't have much test time left over to find the perfect set-up. At the moment I just don't have the confidence, but between now and the next test I will analyse the data together with my crew chief and we will work to find a solution.
Aoyama's crew chief Tom Jojic said: We are working with a completely new bike. We have some technical problems which disturbed the rhythm and we have to find a solution for that. We were able to solve some little problems such as the rear suspension and the front geometry of the bike, and we already have ideas of where to start for the next test.
He continued: I am not happy with this test, but I hope that we can change that at the next one. Now we will analyse the data together with Honda and we will look into that of the other Honda riders, so we can fix the problems we have and come back stronger in three weeks for the next test at Sepang.
