Pagenaud, Farfus to race at Surfers

Date published : 14 Jul 2011 - 10:09:21

Sportscar stars Simon Pagenaud and Augusto Farfus are the latest drivers to sign up for the V8 Supercar races at Surfers Paradise in October. Both will drive for the Garry Rogers Holden squad alongside team regulars Michael Caruso and Lee Holdsworth at the event - at which every team has to field an 'international' driver - although the exact pairings will not be decided until a later date. Rogers believes that the Peugeot sportscar driver Pagenaud (pictured), who won last year's American Le Mans Series LMP title and made his IndyCar debut earlier this year, and BMW GT man Farfus, will adapt well to the demands of the V8s. "I think we have two talented young blokes who can do the job, whether they are crash proof is something we will not find out until race weekend," he said. "I am sure they will fit into our team very well and will be great ambassadors for V8 Supercars back in their own countries." Rival squad Stone Brothers Racing has announced that Le Mans Series GT2 champion Marc Lieb will share one of its Ford Falcons with its regular driver Alex Davison - himself a former co-driver of the German's in Porsches.
