Monte Carlo reveals 2012 rally route

The organisers of the Monte Carlo Rally have issued the full route for next year's World Rally Championship opener.As expected, for the French Alpine rally's return to the WRC, the event runs to a similar format as it has in recent years. The route, which includes action on five separate days, runs to 1,102 miles, 270 of which will be competitive.Instead of finishing on Friday night/Saturday morning, the event has been extended by a day, giving the crews Saturday morning off from driving - before they head to the Alpes Maritimes, just behind Monaco for the final evening's driving.
