Leon Haslam leads the British Superbike Championship despite a dramatic race two crash at Oulton Park after winning first time out at the Cheshire circuit.

The JG Speedfit Kawasaki rider leads by three points from team-mate Luke Mossey despite a dramatic incident when he collided with the rear of James Ellison's McAMS Yamaha.

Haslam had dominated race one ahead of the Be Wiser Ducati Racing machine of Shane Byrne and Mossey.

But with Byrne leading race two, which he went on to win for his first victory of the season, the drama unfolded directly behind him as Ellison's machine appeared to suffer a technical problem and slowed dramatically.

The following Haslam was unable to stop and hit Ellison's bike from the rear, although both riders escaped the incident relatively unscathed.

Byrne took the race win from his team-mate Glenn Irwin and the Honda of Jason O'Halloran.
