Chevrolet dominate at Brands

Date published : 17 Jul 2010 - 17:33:54

Chevrolet dominated qualifying to secure the first three positions on the grid for the first race of Sunday's World Touring Car Championship round at Brands Hatch.

Championship leader Yvan Muller took pole with a time of one minute 32.481 seconds, while team-mates Robert Huff and Alain Menu followed closely behind to secure second and third, just as they had finished in the first part of qualifying.

Huff is one of two Brits in the top four for their home event as independent entrant and reigning British Touring Car champion Colin Turkington grabbed fourth place with a time of 1:32.842 in his BMW, improving from a seventh-place showing in the first session.

Muller's closest challenger in the standings, Gabriele Tarquini, had to settle for fifth place on the grid in his SEAT, ahead of the BMW of Britain's Andy Priaulx.
