Menu completes two-day Jerez test

Date published : 22 Dec 2009 - 10:04:41

Alain Menu returned to WTCC action last week after completing a two-day test at the Jerez circuit in Spain. The Chevrolet team was back to work following the season finale in Macau and Menu was the man in charge of testing duties. However, Menu was hindered by the poor weather that hit the Spanish track."It was nice to be back behind the wheel last week in Jerez, although the rain prevented us to do proper development work," said Menu. "As weather and track conditions were changing constantly, it made no sense to work on set-ups, but we completed some useful system checks and totaled 700 km without any trouble. "I look forward to a white Christmas, but really hope the bad weather will spare Spain and Portugal as from January!"Team boss Eric Neve added: "The so-called winter break is actually one of the busiest and most important periods of the year, as it is the only moment where we can focus exclusively on developing and testing new solutions. "What we'll achieve during the winter will be critical for the coming season, as once the championship starts, events and travel make development work more difficult. We have high ambitions for 2010, so we are doing our utmost during these winter months".Chevrolet's new recruit Yvan Muller will be driving the Cruze for the first time in Valencia mid-January, alongside Rob Huff.
