Yvan Muller became the first World Touring Car driver to take two pole positions in 2010.The championship leader was fastest of the three Chevrolets, which dominated Saturday afternoon's qualifying at Brands Hatch.Muller flew off the road at Paddock Hill Bend on his first effort, but had time to return to the pits and regroup for another go. He went back out late on and set a time two tenths of a second better than Rob Huff's best, with Alain Menu completed the trio another tenth back.Colin Turkington will start from the second row of the grid after his excellent performance earned him fourth place.Reigning and former champions Gabriele Tarquini and Andy Priaulx will share the third row, ahead of Tom Coronel and Tiago Monteiro's Leons.Norbert Michelisz and Augusto Farfus qualified ninth and 10th, while independent racer Franz Engstler was 11th fastst in the normally 10-car Q2 shootout.Coronel looked to have been eliminated in Q1, lying 11th at the end of the session, but he was given another chance when 11 cars were waved through to the top 10 shootout.Robert Dahlgren's Volvo, which is not eligible for points, was lying inside the top 10 during Q1. It was decided that an extra car would be allowed through with it, but the plan was not changed when Dahlgren was bumped out in the closing seconds. The SUNRED SEATs of Jordi Gene, Fredy Barth and Michel Nykjaer did miss out on a spot in Q2, as did Caca Bueno in the fourth Cruze.Pos Driver Car Q1 Q2 1.
