Race win for Priaulx

Andy Priaulx secured a win on home soil for his BMW Team RBM as he claimed the second of Sunday's two World Touring Car Championship races in Zolder, Belgium.

The Guernseyman started from pole after an eighth-place finish in race one and never looked like surrendering control.

"It was really nice to see so many spectators supporting the Belgian team so it felt like a home race for me too," he told www.fiawtcc.com. "It was a similar atmosphere to being at Brands Hatch."

In race one, Jordi Gene claimed his first win since Mexico in 2008.

Gene's SR-Sport team-mate Gabriele Tarquini started on pole, but he was passed by Gene at the start and ended up finishing second - despite briefly falling behind Yvan Muller.

The Chevrolet driver held off team-mate Alain Menu to finish third.

The other key moment in the race came as Priaulx overtook Tom Coronel to secure eight place and pole in race two.

That proved crucial as, aside from second-place starter Norbert Michelisz dropping to eighth after a poor start, action was at a premium second time around.

Rob Huff (Chevrolet) was second and Tiago Monteiro (SEAT) third.
