Britain's Elfyn Evans dominated a testing second day of the Rally Argentina to build a sizeable lead at the top of the standings.

The 28-year-old Welshman won each of Friday's first six stages - one shared with Hayden Paddon - in his Ford Fiesta to open up a 55.7secs advantage over Norway's Mads Ostberg

Thierry Neuville, who came home fastest in the day's final stage, is five seconds back in third spot with World Rally Championship leader Sebastien Ogier in fourth.

France's four-time reigning world champion Ogier had led after Thursday's opening street test in Cordoba but Evans quickly took control on Friday as the rally switched to the gravel roads in the Calamuchita Valley.

Evans, ninth in the overall WRC standings after the opening four rounds, said on www.wrc.com: "It was pretty tough at times but we can be happy with today.

"We have to remember there's a very long way to go tomorrow and Sunday is a tough day too. We have to carry on in the morning like today didn't happen."
